Here is what I have so far, but remember that this is just my basic outline and I am far from done. Please help me decide on colors, and tell me how you like it so far.
With colors, I have decided to color the dragon a deep maroonish-red, but am still unsure about the stomach scales and the webbing of the wings.
Mr. Gifford, I need to know the size of the cover art that we are choosing. Are we doing a full cover picture, a medium-sized one in the middle, or a large one taking up almost the entire bottom half?

I’m leaning towards either a full cover picture or a medium-sized one. You have the printout…is there one you like? So far, I like 1 and 3.
A thought…did you see our last cover? The previous artist incorporated the names of everyone contributing to the book into the cover. I wonder if you could streak everyone’s names behind the dragon…? I’m not sure how that would look. I just thought it might be cool.

I like it! To me it looks like the head is a little too small but I like it otherwise! 🙂
I think you should do a gold is colored underbelly if you are doing marron. I know that saying that is cheesey but I think it would look good!
Stop by my room this week, or just write up something for the dedication and back cover. I have to submit that by FRIDAY!
Also, whatever colors you choose, I have to choose colors to go with it on the cover for the text. Or, I could just go with Black. Oh, I also have to choose the color for the back of the book. It should probably match your art as well.
Words in background: A good legible font is the most important thing. A block text is probably easiest to read. Size…whatever works for your picture. It depends on your creative choices: strings of names covering the entire background and repeating, names in little chunks scattered in the background, names like rain, etc… I would say all black, or give each person a color and make it a rainbow of colors in the background.
Looks cool. Don’t ask me about color combos. I’d just mess it up.
