Noelle is a freelance artist and content creator specializing in realistic, highly-detailed animal portraits. Although she generally illustrates wildlife, Noelle also enjoys experimenting with different concepts, techniques, media, and styles. Creating in both traditional and digital formats, she classifies herself as a true variety artist and doesn’t rely on a single medium. Recently, Noelle has been innovating ways to allow her wildlife artwork to educate and inspire others as she researches each species and shares the discovered knowledge through her art.
Noelle has always harbored a strong interest for the arts and has been creating for as long as she can remember. In May 2015, Noelle received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art and Art Education from Texas State University and began her career as a freelance artist. A few months later, she began broadcasting on Twitch and was partnered with Twitch Interactive, Inc. before the end of the year. A year later, Noelle joined the Twitch Adobe Channel as a featured broadcaster for Adobe Systems, Inc. providing traditional art, digital photography, and Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop content until the summer of 2017.
Because of her strong love of wildlife, Noelle founded FaunaFocus in early 2017. This community of artists focuses on a unique animal species each month and unites animal-enthusiasts across multiple platforms. Encouraging others to learn about the various creatures that populate our planet and create artwork inspired by them, FaunaFocus intends to build a better understanding of the world and its wildlife through the universal language of art. All are encouraged to get involved with FaunaFocus and share their creations through the hashtag, #FaunaFocus. In 2017 and 2018, WWF-Australia partnered with FaunaFocus to help raise funds for several endangered species and hosted successful broadcasting charity campaigns.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you use references or only create from your imagination?
While concepts are often from my imagination alone, I rely on photographic references for accurate anatomy, poses, and colors.
Dominant hand?
I am right-handed.
Favorite animal?
The Red Fox, or Vulpes vulpes, has been my favorite animal since I was about 10 years old and was gifted a long, skinny fox stuffed animal by my grandmother. Other favorites include deer and seals. I also have a soft spot for virtually any canine or feline. Honestly, I like just about every animal out there, especially the furry ones.
Favorite artwork?
My favorite piece actually includes the entire series, Muted Outcries. This series includes seven large oil paintings that were painted over the course of four months and stemmed from raw, emotional experiences, heavily referencing abuse. This series was featured in two galleries and now hangs on display in my home.
Favorite color?
While deep purple was my favorite color for many years, I have since fallen in love with blue-green, otherwise known as teal or turquoise. My favorite color schemes include blues and browns, especially light blue and dark brown.
Favorite medium?
I’m asked this question all the time and, honestly, I can’t give a straight answer. I don’t really have any one particular medium that I favor over others. I generally prefer working in oil paint, watercolor, ink, or colored pencil, but it changes all the time and I’m frequently experimenting with different media and techniques.
Favorite video game?
I have always loved playing video games and remember playing on a GameBoy Color as early as 5-years-old. My favorite video game of all time is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which I’ve played on PC and Xbox. Other favorite franchises include Abzu, Animal Crossing, Endless Ocean, Harvest Moon, The Legend of Zelda, Monster Hunter, Planet Coaster, Pokemon, Roller Coaster Tycoon, The Sims, Slime Rancher, Super Smash Bros., Zoo Tycoon, and many more.
How do you decide what to draw?
Commissions are always my first priority, followed by collaborations, trades, and any other owed artwork. When I owe no artwork, I enjoy participating in contests or challenges as they offer a theme or trial and are sometimes coupled with a reward. I also enjoy creating gifts for friends and family in my spare time. I rarely work on personal artwork, but when I do, I draw inspiration from my own emotions, characters, and life experiences and particularly enjoy depicting scenes of animals and nature.
How long does it take you to create your artwork?
The length of time it takes to create my work definitely depends on the type of work I am creating. Smaller works can be finished as quickly as 2 hours, while larger works may take 3 weeks time to complete.
How long have you been livestreaming?
I have been livestreaming on Twitch since August 24, 2015. I was partnered with Twitch Interactive, Inc. on November 23, 2015.
When did you start drawing?
I can remember drawing as early as five years old, copying images from coloring books. I’ve been drawing ever since and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts in May 2015.
