Improvements: March 12, 2007

Lately, I have been reflecting upon many things in my life and I have realized a few things within my writings:

I found that a comment I heard a while back may in fact be true; my writing is dry. It seems to me that I write the same each time and that my voice is monotone and has no emotion or unique flair to it. I sometimes grow bored reading my work, and I feel that this shouldn’t happen. I have also noticed that I have not been writing as often as I used to, and this may be part of the reason. (For other reasons, you will have to read My Thoughts, specifically my first one.)

I am asking for some serious help from my fellow readers and writers. I need some encouragement, guidelines, criticisms, etc.

  • What can I do better?
  • What should I be doing that I am not currently?
  • How can I add interest to my work?

Please comment with some real suggestions and tips that I can use to improve…

Girl Version Rewrite

Well, I have decided to change my character from my Revenge story to the female gender due to the large amount of votes. I think that it would be a pretty cool idea. I will rewrite my Revenge story once again, this time thinking of the character as a girl. I need some help thinking of a name however. Here is a picture to get a vague idea of what she looks like. (Please note that I am not very good at drawing humans. Animals are my thing.)

Girl or Guy?

If you have read either the first or second version of my story Revenge, I am currently trying to decide wether to make the character male or female. Please tell me what you think on this subject.

Improvements: January 2, 2007

Alright, I am really in a writing mood and I have a feeling that says that I will be for most of this week.

First off, I would like to get a few ideas about my already-written materiel. I would like feedback and suggestions that could help me. It would help to know everybody’s favorites. My two main stories currently are The Horse From the Woods (working on Chapter 2) and Lost in this World (working on Chapter 7). Don’t forget about the short stories!

I plan to rewrite Our World: Revenge to develop the character more and possibly use him in further stories.

Hmm… an idea just came to me as I was typing this. Well, I am off to write!

Eragon Dilemma

As I have previously mentioned, I have an Eragon problem. Two people who are not Magic Pens members have told me that the prologue in my main story, The Horse From the Woods is just like Eragon. I have seen the movie, yet I heard that it was different from the book and plan on reading it soon.

If anyone here has read Eragon please read my prologue and tell me what you think. Is it really like Eragon?

Asking for Feedback

I noticed that I’ve written many stories recently and I’m asking for some feedback! I ‘ve posted many varieties of writing including 1st person and 3rd person, a long chapter story, a short chapter story, short stories, different perspectives on the same story, and a memoir. I’m asking for simple answers to these questions…

Let Me Decorate Your Blog!

I was thinking about it and since I’ve bought a new computer, I now have much more free time.

If anybody would like me to decorate their blog, just ask. All you will need is a background color preference and a picture. The only decorating I can do right now is add a header, (like the dragon I have,) add a bar to the side of the sidebar or add images to the sidebar, add dividers after each post, change the more button, change the font size or type, add a small image before the title of each post, and change the color of the background.

If you would like any of these things done, just ask!
