I’ve created a 3D model of my world, Septia, to begin with and will be drawing pictures and maps later on. These were created using FarCry’s Map Editor program. xD I will also be labelling the pictures once I think of all of the names and such. Expect many updates on this post.

“Timeline” by Michael Crichton
Once again, I was consumed with homework and I even got a new and better notebook for my handwritten Spanish dictionary for Spanish class, so I was working on converting the 80 pages of Spanish words over to the new notebook. I’ve only gotten 30 pages finished so far.
Anyways, this week from September 30, to October 6, 2007, I have written only 364 words.
I also read 36 pages of Timeline written by Michael Crichton.
I need to scribble down a few places in my world. I will definately be adding to this post many times.
From September 22, to September 29, 2007, I only wrote 171 words.
Go ahead, stone me…
I also read 46 pages of Timeline written by Michael Crichton and a whole lot from many different texts for a research paper I am doing. I do, however, have a lame excuse as to why I didn’t write much this week…
Last Monday, my science teacher, Mr. Spooner, gave us a project to show comparisons of humans to animals in either a video or a live presentation in front of the class with a posterboard. He didn’t give us a syllabus until Tuesday or Wednesday, and the project was due four days later on that Friday. I created a video presentation, and I spent 14 hours making it. Although I rushed it, I spent all my time on the project, not having any time left over for my other homework, anything fun, or anything else. Mr. Spooner was very proud with my project, though, and I got a 50/50 on it. 😀 Anyways, here is the final project…
If it doesn’t work here, watch it on the YouTube page, here!
For my project, I drew this sabertoothed cat and could only use 29 seconds of this 3:21 video, (which actually took my an hour to draw in real-life.)
If it doesn’t work here, watch it on the YouTube page, here!
Septia is the world that I created when I was about seven years old in my first version of The Horse from the Woods, and I would really like to develop it and make it seem as if it was an actual world with actual history and stuff, so I will be making a new “Septia” category and might be adding a few posts about the world every now and then. I expect to put up stuff such as the creatures that live in the world, the different cities, forests, past wars, a world map, different rulers, etc. I will also be constantly editting the posts as I publish them, so don’t freak out.

“Timeline” by Michael Crichton
This week from September 16 to September 23, 2007, I wrote a total of 2,337 words.
I also read 45 pages of Timeline written by Michael Crichton.
I really want to redo some of my webpages, which would make me want to rewrite the stories too, but I have too much other stuff to do right now. 🙁
When I was seven years old I made up this “ghost story” to tell my best friend of the time. One night while sitting on my front porch directly in front of the street lamp across the street, I created this story on the spot and told her. She believed me at the time, but years later I told her that I had made it up. She said that she didn’t mind because it was a pretty cool story. I don’t know about how cool it is, but I’ll post it anyways, even though it’s really short. I’ll try to write it as I told it back then, but that was eight years ago so…
A few years back, there used to be a family that lived here in this house, a young boy living with his mother and father. The boy’s grandmother was growing older and was already widowed, so when she knew that she was to die soon, she came here to visit her son, daughter-in-law, and grandson one last time.
I was challenged to rewrite my story, A Fortune too Late, making it only 1,000 words long. Without counting this introduction, the story is 996 words long. Please tell me what you think of the two different versions if you can.
“You are a hard and earnest worker,” my dad read aloud, placing his uneaten fortune cookie on his plate. He’s never been fond of the small Chinese desserts.
After my dad had read his fortune, my mom and my brother soon followed. “What’s yours say, Noelle?”
I bet you anything this word count will be low…
Let’s see, this week from September 9, to September 15, 2007, I wrote a total of…let me calculate it…610 words.
Yup, I was right…pathetic. To be honest, there were many times that I sat down to write, but nothing came to me…It was late at night, the lights were off, my music was on, I was in “the zone” but nothing…I always get into writing moods after seeing a really cool, well though-out movie and I watched Unbreakable by M. Night Shyamalan and I always get into a writing mood after seeing one of his movies. He is one of the coolest writers, even though it’s movies, not books. Anyway, I also saw Surf’s Up, loved the music so much and looked it up online only finding that it was composed by Mychael Danna, but couldn’t download it and it’s not being sold. Darn it! Well, I was listening to some samples of it which also wanted to make me write since it’s such awesome music.
So, reading…I read the last 75 pages of And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie, 45 pages of Timeline written by Michael Crichton, and 90 pages of Type a Little Faster, Volume II: 2006-2007 by the Minot High School Magic Pens. 😀
First off, I have been waiting to welcome all of the new members of Magic Pens, but now that they all have their blogs up, WELCOME! I hope that every single one of you decides to stay in this club, attend meetings, write often, and never “die out” on us, as some have done in the past. I also hope that this will be the best year of Magic Pens and that we will try out many new and fun activites, getting everybody inspired to write, finish stories, and maybe even get published. So, once again, I welcome you to the club and I invite you to ask me anything that you would like to know, either about myself, blog edditing, or the club, and I will answer as soon as possible. (That usually won’t be very long as I check Magic Pens a lot.)
Also, be sure to check out the Official Magic Pens Website!

“And Then There Were None” by Agatha Christie
Although we don’t have to, I will try to continue to do word counts just because I feel like it and I feel that it kind of pushes me a bit. It is kind of nice to know how much I am actually writing…
Anyways, this week from September 2 to September 8, 2007, I managed to write 3,920 words.
I also read 205 pages of And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie.
I hope that all the new members get their blogs up soon so they can start writing, too! I’ve been working pretty hard on trying to finish all the tutorials on how to edit your blogs too, so be sure to check those out when you guys get your blogs if you would like to customize them. Well, I should’ve been in bed 5 minutes ago, so I’d better sign off…
So, you’d like to know a bit more about me?
This is a picture of my brother, Wesley, and me in July of 2007.

Where should I begin? I, Noelle Marie Brooks, was born in San Antonio, Texas, on Lackland Air Force Base on June 29, 1992 (and have a birthmark the shape of the state, too.) Although I lived on Lackland for 11 years I had four different houses until my mom was assigned to be a recruiter in Minneapolis, Minnesota and we moved in June of 2003. We lived in Wisconsin until August of 2003 while the Air Force was inspecting the house we were going to live in, and then in October of 2004, we moved from Minnesota to here, Minot, North Dakota. I will have lived here for three years this coming October.
