I think that I have thought it all through and have a new story in my head now! 😀 I have it all figured out, it’s totally awesome, and now I just need some characters and a title…The title part is really bugging me.

I am having a great deal of difficulty trying to figure out this new story that I have been thinking of for a very long time…I have a few scenes in mind, but there are no characters, no story, no title…basically nothing. I need to carve out some characters and maybe then I will be able to get a storyline going or something. The title of this post may seem confusing, but I understand it and it’s hard to explain…Gaah! I want to write!

Let’s see…Maybe I should try thinking out loud…

Reminicing over his life as he stared Death in the face, Sacariss let the excruciating pain sweep over his scaled body, releasing the immense amount of pride that had swelled within him. He quietly accepted his fate, knowing that he was coming to his end. He knew that he must rely his trust upon Nadia and the others. He knew that he was no longer going to be there to lead them. He had used all of his strength, but he was unable to defeat Antracius. Sacariss was still the younger brother. He was not as strong as Antracius, just as no one else was. This was the end…this was his end. Antracius had won…

Write about something that you find completely pointless in this world, or make up your own invention that serves no purpose.

Participators

  • Desirae Small’s Useless {sporks}
  • From the profound depths of my mind, I knew that my end was coming. I came to realize that I would not continue on; I would not go forth. My life was ending in this bleak, tenebrous world, a world that I had never seen. Suddenly, I found myself beginning to dream.

Once more, the mythical beast entered my mind, smiling with joy. The dragon lightly sprinkled the world with her peaceful laugh. So soft and so gentle, it relieved the stress from my body. I felt completely placid watching the beast twirl and soar through the clouds. There were no worries lurking in the shadows of my mind and the pain departed from my body along with the shrill, wet feeling. This was the way I was to leave the world. This was the way I was to go…

There was silence before the sounds began to return to me. I could smell the thick smoke of a fire and heard the flickering crackles that emitted from it as it spread its warmth over me. There was a sturdy rock wall that supported my back. I seemed to have returned to the cave from before and felt relieved to know that I was alive and safe, but, where was I?

Silence hovered over the valley without the breath of one person. Life seemed to come to a rest as I watched the people around me suddenly realize what was happening. No one moved. No one spoke. No one blinked. Eyes grew wide with fear. Mouths fell open in astonishment. Then the panic finally set in.

I tried a new technique with this story, so please read and tell me what you think of it. Please tell me if you can clearly see what is happening. The ending needs some work, so please help me with that.

There was nothing but silence that lay over the darkness of the forest as if a blanket had muffled out the very existence of life. The precious sun hid its warming luster from the Earth, finally allowing the moon to shed its own vague beams upon the snow covered land, and urging the millions of shining stars to emerge from their concealment. All across the vast navy of the night sky, sprinkles of light complimented the moon as it sang throughout the night, spreading its cold glow about the frost. The sky seemed to be an open doorway to the galaxy beyond as it shimmered in all its beauty, unharmed by man. The vastness did not seem to overpower the land before it, only add to the true artistry of nature.

I wrote these poems back in 2003 when I was in the 6th grade.

    Winter Night

Winter is cold, alone and dark.
All animals hidden away, some flown south in search of warmth.
    Nothing around, nothing to see,
But the black of the sky and the white of the land.

Winter is sad, brisk and quiet.
Everything around is cold and dying.
The air around is thin and harsh,
    The moon, bright and full.

Winter is bleak, windy, and frozen.
A mere doe searching for food,
    Lying down in Death itself,
    Waiting, waiting, waiting for something.

Winter is Death, freezing, and mysterious.
The night casting shadows on the snow.
The moon summoning bright light overhead,
The only hope in this brisk, cold night.

Winter is queer, strange, and odd.
The morning sun slowly rising from slumber,
Painting the land with pink and orange,
The sky violet with little hope of morning.

Winter is bright, blinding, and white.
With morning, little hope is arisen.
The long night is over, the doe is forgotten.
Another day is born, with new night to come.

Winter is hopeless, dreadful, and frightening.
Days and nights passing by in a never-ending circle,
Waiting for the miracle of spring to come.
But until, winter stays, killing and depressing.

This is a poem that I wrote in 7th grade.

If you go outside on a cold winter night,
Then you will see nothing at all in your sight.
If you look up into the deep, dark sky,
Then you might see dancing stars with your eye.

They dance with each other or dance alone.
They dance as if with only one tone.
But if you look around there is nothing there,
    Nothing at all, anywhere.

You glance around and suddenly realize,
That there is nothing here but stars and skies…

Write a story beginning and ending with the question, “Why?” Try to keep the story based around the question if you can.
