Here are all the poems that I wrote about two years ago for my characters, Airiokko and Verlanith the mountain lion and baby dragon, and Snowfiss the wolfess. Check out their pages or stories to find out more about them. All of these poems are written from Airiokko’s point of view.
I sit here alone in the dark.
No one here to feel my pain,
No one here to hear me cry,
No one here to see my tears,
No one here to watch me suffer.
I sit here alone in the dark.
I stand up boldly against the wind,
Against the pain,
Against the sadness.
I stand up boldy with my chest out in front,
My paws firm on the ground,
My ears upright.
I stand up boldy with my mind determined,
My soul deeply wanting to,
And my goal, to achieve.
I stand up boldly against the wind.
Looking ahead with my dark blue eyes,
I see nothing, nothing at all…
There are no trees,
There is no grass,
And it shall never rain nor dew.
There shall never grow a single flower,
Nor crawl a single bug.
Snow falls and flies all around,
And the sun will never shine its brightest.
The temperature stays down low,
And the snow never fades away.
The sky stays clouded,
While the ground stays white,
And that is how it will always be.
However my heart may wish it,
This land shall stay barren, as will my soul.
Looking ahead with my dark blue eyes,
I see nothing, nothing at all…
*This poem is speaking of Airiokko’s love, Snowfiss*
She thinks and she dreams all to herself,
Of happiness and warmth, and of no more sadness.
She thinks and she dreams all to herself,
Of her mother and father and of no longer missing them.
She thinks and she dreams all to herself,
Of a warm, roaring fire, and the smell of fresh food, and of no longer feeling hungry or cold.
She thinks and she dreams all to herself,
Oh, what a dreamer she is!
As I watch the stars, I think to myself…
With darkness behind me, and a fire beside,
My soul deeply weeps and cries on the inside.
I watch the bright moon hang in the sky,
And I remember my mother, beginning to cry.
I take in a deep breath, freezing my throat,
And think of happiness, my mind continuing to float.
As I think and I dream, a smile creeps up,
And I no longer think of when I was a pup.
As I watch the stars, I think to myself…
*This poem is speaking of Airiokko’s pet dragon, Verlanith*
I found him upon ice and snow,
Hurt and weak and tired.
I found him upon ice and snow,
Unable to go on.
I found him upon ice and snow,
Searching for a place to stay.
I found him upon ice and snow,
And he found me.
