Sustainability Must be Beautiful

On Thursday, September 30, 2010, I attended the opening gallery reception for the Sustainability Must be Beautiful show located in The Gallery of the Common Experience.

Within the University Honors Coffee Forum in the Lampasas Building, Room 407, of Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, the gallery provided a quaint, yet roomy feel for the show to reside within. With low lights, all 60 pieces appeared shrouded in a beautiful, rich, golden glow. The environment was warm and comfortable, allowing the viewer to completely experience each piece of art.

Salvation Army Experience

Friday was quite the day…which is why I’m writing about it on Sunday. I’ve had a busy weekend. xD

So, I don’t want anyone to freak out about me. I know what I’m doing… 🙂 But on Thursday, I was up pretty late studying for my Communications test Friday morning. When I was done, and had a good understanding on everything, I took a shower, set 2 alarms and went to bed. I usually wake up at 7:00AM for my classes, so I set my regular 7:00AM clock alarm, but I don’t have class until 9:00AM and could really wake up at 8:00AM and be just fine. I just like to have some extra time. But since it was late, I figured I’d want an extra hour of sleep and set my phone alarm for 8:00AM.

Another Bible Study!

It’s all thanks to my grandparents, really…

I’ve always been a very religious person, although most people don’t know it. I pray every day, turn to God with all of my problems, and am very personal when it comes to religion and how I feel about it. It’s difficult for me to talk about it because it is very personal to me, but I’m not afraid to admit that I’m a Christian.

Bike Troubles

Today was going pretty smoothly I think…

I woke up just an hour later than my alarm, (which is fine because I set it for 2 hours before class,) because I had a nightmare that kept me up last night around 4:00AM and had already gone to sleep a little later than usual because of last night’s Movie Night. xD But, that wasn’t really that odd, or anything.

Quite the Night

So, I had a day planned…but it didn’t quite go as I had planned…

First off, I had an alarm set for 9:00AM, but I usually don’t wake up early on days I don’t have classes. xD Tuesday’s my free day, and my roommate, Laura sleeps ’till at least noon everyday, so I don’t like to wake up early. lol

By experiencing, witnessing, and viewing art, one can enhance his view on the world, but may also transform the lens through which he perceives. I experienced this transformation after attending Ry Rocklen’s presentation at the Blanton Museum of Art at the University of Texas in Austin on September 16, 2010. From this presentation, my view on art was questioned and my overall appreciation of art was increased, expanded, and strengthened.
